Director of Community Relations at CTS, Hope Hampton, has been named co-chair of the steering community for the Indianapolis Public Library’s upcoming strategic plan. Along with Carey Lykins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Energy Group, Hampton will guide the group of community volunteers tasked with identifying how public library services can and should impact the quality of life in the city in 2015 to 2020.
The committee is addressing questions such as, “What kind of city do we hope Indianapolis will be in 2010?” and, “How might the Indianapolis Public Library contribute to the city’s progress?” as they gather information through nine task forces.
Hampton hopes to bring representation from the city’s faith communities into the dialogue. In the library’s press release, Hampton said, "Our goal is for people from all walks of life to offer their perspectives on the city's future and help us identify how the rich resources of the public library can contribute to a more educated, prosperous and vibrant community." She added, “It is important for a seminary like CTS that has a broad and lasting commitment to the community to have a presence in such major city initiatives as this.”
The library board hopes to roll out the plan to the public beginning in early 2014. For more information, please visit the library’s strategic plan website.
