Auburn Theological Seminary: Auburn Coaching
Auburn Coaching

Auburn utilizes coaching to equip bold and resilient leaders for twenty-first century ministry by bringing pastoral coaching to church leaders across the country. Its primary commitment to doing so is through the Pastoral Coach Training program, a rigorous educational experience for those seeking to become coaches of church leaders in their own right. The program is designated by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a site providing Approved Coach-Specific Training Hours (ACSTH), a significant validation of the curriculum. Graduates of the program will have met all the educational requirements necessary to seek credentials as an Associate Certified Coach from the ICF, but with a particular focus on coaching leaders for congregational, organizational, and social change. Auburn also utilizes coaching as a crucial resource in many of its educational programs and cohorts. Most notably, coaching is provided to the Auburn Senior Fellows, the seminary's signature program that supports a select group of outstanding national faith leaders in their work.

Pennsylvania Southeast Conference, UCC: Pastoral Excellence Program

The Pastoral Excellence Program of the PSEC consists of Communities of Practice that consist of four to six members with a facilitator. These groups create opportunities for clergy to support one another and also to learn ways in which their ministry can be enriched and strengthened. We are just in the beginning stages and currently have three Communities of Practice in their first year of gathering. We look forward to expanding our Pastoral Excellence Program with other affinity learning groups and other learning and supportive programs.

The Ministers Council, ABCUSA: The 7Rs of Sanctuary

The 7Rs of Sanctuary is a program that helps participants integrate spiritual practices into their leadership in order to realize increased effectiveness. By engaging in the 7Rs: Retreat, Release, Reconnect, Review, Reflect, Recalibrate, and Return, participants learn how to realize sanctuary – that mental and/or physical place in which resources are restored and spiritual wellbeing is increased. It is in that place of sanctuary that leadership effectiveness is fostered, because leaders emerge with strategies that help them gain perspective while remaining spiritually rooted and grounded. To register to join the cohort launching in June, 2016: http://conta.cc/1qTo5dj.
