The article listed seven comments from an informal survey of pastors and their spouses on the issue of their children being held to a different standard than any other child in a congregation.

  • Can any of us be critiqued?

We each gave a lecture, and then the audience was given the chance to respond, ask questions, and dialogue. After several questions that were answered with insightfulness and clarity and the panel was feeling good about itself, an African-American woman rose to speak.

I described how spouses felt so isolated and unappreciated for the sacrifices they made for the church, and, though they had listened to many others, there was no reciprocation.
